External volumes
Persist data independently from ephemeral instance disks.
Persistence contract
Local instance storage is ephemeral. Only an attached external volume survives termination. One volume can attach to one instance at a time.
Lifecycle
Create a volume, wait for Ready, select it during deployment, and let termination detach it. Deletion is destructive and requires typed confirmation. Snapshots and scheduled backups are outside public v1.
